Mantis & Co. is pleased to announce that it is now officially certified as a Disability-Owned Business Enterprise (DOBE), as part of Disability:IN’s Supplier Diversity program. This certification recognizes Mantis & Co. as a disability-owned and operated business that is committed to advancing accessibility, inclusive design, and equity for people with disabilities.
The Disability:IN Supplier Diversity program certifies disability-owned, service-disabled, and veteran disability-owned businesses, linking them to organizations that seek to diversify their supply chains. A Disability-Owned Business Enterprise is a for-profit business that is at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by a person with a disability.
On average, DOBEs employ people with disabilities at 6-7 times the rate of their non-DOBE peers, and they are nationally recognized by The Billion Dollar Roundtable.
“This certification is more than just a milestone for Mantis & Co. It’s a reflection of our mission to drive meaningful change through inclusive design,” said Anna Thielke, Founder & CEO of Mantis & Co. “As a disability-owned business, we are dedicated to creating equitable solutions that improve health outcomes and ensure accessibility is at the core of innovation.”
Mantis & Co. specializes in inclusive design and accessibility consulting, working with organizations to embed accessibility into products, services, and systems. The company is committed to designing with, for, and by the disability community, ensuring that innovation and equity go hand in hand.
Jill Houghton, President & CEO of Disability:IN, emphasized the significance of disability-owned businesses:
“Certified disability-owned business enterprises (DOBEs) signal to companies: innovation, growth, and opportunity. The very experiences that have resulted in exclusion are what make DOBEs such important assets for corporate supplier diversity efforts. It is the strength of DOBEs, including Veteran-DOBEs and Service-Disabled Veteran DOBEs, that will bring the next age of innovation and sustainability.”
Thielke added: “At Mantis & Co., we believe that accessibility is more than compliance, it’s about creating a world where everyone can thrive. We are excited to join a network of businesses that are driving change and look forward to partnering with companies that share our vision.”
